Roughcut Films is an independent production company founded by Fabrizio Fenech and partnered with producer Keith A. Tedesco, operating on the picturesque island of Malta.

Our core mission is to craft bold, bi-lingual narrative films that resonate deeply with both local communities and global audiences. We are committed to telling stories that matter and reflect identity, challenge perspectives, and celebrate the unique voice of Maltese and Mediterranean cinema.

We made our mark with Uwijja, our first major success and a significant milestone for the company. As the first independent feature film in our slate to secure global Video on Demand (VOD) distribution, Uwijja helped solidify our reputation for producing quality, impactful cinema with international reach.

From 2024 onward, Fabrizio and Keith have expanded Roughcut Films’ portfolio to include a diverse range of productions, spanning short-form projects to full-length features. Our growing body of work includes titles such as The Duality of Ecstasy, Serena, Ciao Ciao and Unur Fama u Glorja. Currently in post-production is our upcoming feature, The Home Straight, which continues our mission to develop original Independent films. 

With a passion for creative collaboration and cultural storytelling, Roughcut Films remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of independent cinema while contributing meaningfully to the evolving landscape of Maltese and European film.

Beyond our original work, Roughcut Films provides production and post-production services. From pre-production planning and location scouting to post-production and finishing, we offer filmmakers comprehensive, end-to-end support at every stage of the process.
